@tchambers As far as why defederated variants may embrace the , it will be because of two predictable events:

👉🏾 ’s InstaPost (P92) entering the Fediverse
👉🏾 making either a core feature or heavily promoting the ActivityPub plugin.

Both would massively expand the Fediverse & allow the sites to embrace the Fediverse as a whole again.
